SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT- Effective immediately, the University of South Florida will no longer accept freshman applications for admission in the Spring semester to either its Tampa campus or USF St. Petersburg. NOTE: If you decide to enroll elsewhere and apply to transfer to USF at a later date, USF now requires a minimum of 36 transferable credit hours with a transfer GPA of 3.0 or better for transfer admission at the lower division.

Applications for Admission

Apply Online (preferred) -USF Student

USF's online application is hosted by FACTS (Florida Academic Counseling and Tracking for Students). FACTS is a central web resource for students to plan and manage their higher education experience. FACTS includes Florida community colleges, private and public universities, and is described as "Florida's online gateway for college information."

Online application instructions (read carefully):

  • Print these instructions for reference.
  • Click the Apply Online link below to go to the FACTS.org site.
  • Click the "Applying for College " menu tab across the top of the page.
  • Review the "Steps for Applying" under the "Apply" sub-menu.
  • Click the "College Applications" link under the "Apply" sub-menu, then click "Continue".
  • Create your FACTS login.
  • Choose to apply to the University of South Florida.
  • Complete the online application selecting the USF St. Petersburg campus then print and follow the Final Application Steps listed on the Confirmation Page.

Apply online at http://www.facts.org/. After you apply online, if needed, you may print a reference copy of the confirmation page (*pdf - requires Acrobat Reader).

NOTE: It is not necessary to submit a separate application to each USF campus. If you wish to attend USF St. Petersburg and have an active application for USF Tampa, please complete the Student Self-Declared Data Form and submit it to our office.

 

Admissions Deposit (first-time in college)

As an admitted student, you are required to pay a $200 non-refundable admissions deposit to secure your place in the entering freshman class. The admissions deposit will be applied toward your first semester's tuition charge once you are registered for classes.

The deposit is due by May 1 for students admitted for the summer or fall term or by December 1 for students admitted for the spring term. You must pay the admissions deposit before registering for orientation.

To pay the admissions deposit online via credit card:

If you prefer to mail in your deposit, please complete the Admissions Deposit Form and mail it to the address listed on the form.

Please remember that the admissions deposit is non-refundable and valid only for the term for which you have been admitted. Pay it only when you are certain that you wish to enroll at USF.

If you are unable to apply online, you may mail your printed application, residency form and a non-refundable $30 application fee to:
