About USF St. Petersburg

The University of South Florida is a public, urban campus that combines the resources and creativity of a major university with the intimate feel of a small, private college.

The campus serves a diverse student body, attracting students of all backgrounds and walks of life. Our institution allows people of all ages, experiences, and perspectives to come together in an active learning environment. The students are an eclectic mix of “traditional” younger students and “non-traditional” working professionals who are advancing or changing careers.

USF St. Petersburg offers a full range of academic programs for undergraduate and graduate students. Many students are involved in extracurricular activities on campus and a majority hold part-time or full-time jobs on or off campus while working toward their degree.

As a registered employer, you may post your full-time, part-time, internship and cooperative education opportunities on this system. Students registered on the system have 24-hour access to these opportunities and can communicate with employers directly. Check it out at Recruit-A-Bull and create your account today.

Employer Resource Library

We keep employer files, videos, CD ROMs, and any other information employers would like students to know about their organization in a central location for student review. In order to have information available to students, please send your company's materials and we will update our resource library.

Experiential Education

There are two types of experiential learning opportunities offered to students through USF St. Petersburg:

Cooperative Education

A "Co-op” is a structured, supervised program which integrates practical, paid work experience with a student’s academic program. The two types of Co-op plans are Alternating and Parallel. The Alternating Plan allows students to alternate full-time semesters of work with full-time semesters of study. The Parallel Plan allows students to take classes and work simultaneously.

Internships

Internships are credited or non-credited learning experiences that give students an opportunity to implement and enhance their academic learning at an on or off-campus site. Internships are typically one-semester long (or for a specified amount of time) and supervised by the internship site supervisor.

Both of these experiences are intended to give students some hands-on experience in a work setting of interest to them. USF St. Petersburg Career Services is happy to work with you to create these types of opportunities that would be mutually beneficial to your organization and our students. Please contact us at 727-873-4129 for more information on any of our experiential education programs.
