Martine Fernandes, Ph.D.

Martine Fernandes's picture

Dr. Martine Fernandes is originally from France, near Paris. She is a native speaker of French and Portuguese, and also speaks Spanish. She received a PhD in French Literature & Language from the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne and the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. In 1994, she received the Agrégation in French Modern Literature.

Francophone literatures, immigrant literatures, Portuguese immigration in France (Literature and Film), transnationalism, postcolonialism, cognitive linguistics, and women writers.
