FINDING A CAREER IN ANTHROPOLOGY!

fourfields

What are some Career Paths in Anthropology?

University teaching; consulting with local and international agencies; helping the Census Bureau get accurate counts of homeless people; helping a third world country merge traditional and western based medical systems; showing a medical school how to provide care to a multicultural community; serving as a congressional aide on cultural issues. These are just some of the varied jobs that anthropologists have.

When choosing a subfield think about the following

1. What were your favorite classes and the particular subjects in those classes?

2. What are your hobbies?

3. What did you enjoy as a child?

4. What type of life/surrounding do you picture yourself in 5 to 10 years?

5. What are you  willing to sacrifice, if anything, for a career in anthropology?
