ISRS Home
The First Triennial Symposium for the International Society of River Science will commence in 2009 as a continuation of the meetings formerly known as the International Symposium on Regulated Rivers (this, being the eleventh in that series). ISRS (having existed informally as the group of scientists participating in the ISORS meetings) is a global society without political, national, social or cultural affiliations with a goal of fostering and developing scholarship in all disciplines contributing to the knowledge and stewardship of rivers and streams as vital natural and managed ecosystems. The St. Petersburg meeting will the first of many to come.

The conference will be hosted by the Program in Environmental Science, Policy and Geography (University of South Florida St Petersburg) at the Trade Winds Hotel and Resort on St Pete Beach, Florida, and is also supported by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
