Prospective Students The University Honors Program requires a commitment to achieving a superior level of scholastic distinction. Entering freshmen are typically students who have attained a high level of academic excellence throughout high school. Candidates for the two-year program have achieved a high level of academic success in their college coursework. Candidates for the four-year University Honors Program must be entering freshmen who have been accepted for admission to USF St. Petersburg; have a high school GPA of 3.7 or above (overall); and SAT math/verbal score of 1250 or ACT score of 29 or above. Candidates for the two-year University Honors Program must be accepted for admission to USF St. Petersburg; have a college/university GPA of 3.5 or above; and be approved by the Honors Program Director. Promising students who lack requisite test scores or GPA may be admitted to the program at the director's discretion. Students who do not meet the specific criteria listed above but are interested in participating in the Honors Program are encouraged to contact the Honors Program director to discuss other options. Students with extraordinary life experiences are especially encouraged to apply.
