Stand Out Student Research at USF St. Petersburg College of Business Accounting graduate students Valerie J. Kimball and Kimberly Martyn succeeded not only in publishing an article, but in being the cover article for the February 2008 issue of The CPA Journal, which is a widely-recognized refereed publication venerated by practicing CPAs, educators and other accounting professionals.
Internship Oppotunities with Local Magazine The winner of The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, Dawna Stone, has founded Her Sports & Fitness Magazine, which is headquartered in downtown St. Petersburg. The magazine is currently seeking students majoring in Marketing, Journalism and English for various Internship Opportunities. An Information Session is being held on Tuesday, February 5 @ 5pm in the College of Business.

Marketing Plan Competition Provides Practical Experience Students of the USF St. Petersburg College of Business have gained real world experience in writing marketing plans through their Marketing 4824 class, taught by Dr. Karin Braunsberger. Students in the class were divided into seven competing teams and were charged the task of preparing a marketing plan for the launch of the new Florida State “Save the Manatee” Specialty Plate in January. Study Abroad Opportunities expand in COB and at USFSP Students can explore the world while earning credit through study abroad opportunities. The College of Business is coordinating trips to China, Cambodia/Thailand, and Guatemala.

USFSP MBA Recognized for Excellence on Social and Environmental Issues The University of South Florida St. Petersburg has demonstrated significant leadership in integrating social and environmental issues into its MBA program, according to the Aspen Institute's 2007-2008 edition of Beyond Grey Pinstripes, a biennial survey and alternative ranking of business schools. Andy Masters to discuss 'Life After College' The COB has partnered with the Alumni Association to present ‘Life After College’. Andy Masters, a national speaker, will discuss what to expect and how to succeed in your career. MBA Launches Marketing Campaign Story provided by Erika Llenza If you do any driving in Pinellas County then you have probably seen the new marketing campaign for the College of Business MBA program. The billboards, which launched March 19 and run through May 14, were inspired by USF St. Petersburg MBA students. “We asked our students to tell us what made them decide to return to school to earn their MBAs and why they selected USF St. Petersburg,” said Ryan Langan, MBA director at USF St. Petersburg. “Their input was a key factor in the development of our message.” The billboards’ catchy slogans include:
