Director's Greeting

The Program of Accountancy (POA) in the College of Business at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg welcomes you to our new web site! As the Director of the POA, I'd like to personally encourage you to review these pages, and then stop by to speak to me or any one of our talented and experienced faculty or staff members to find out more about our courses in financial and cost accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, taxation, business law and forensic accounting, and how they can help you achieve your academic and career goals.

We are very proud that, along with the College of Business, our Program of Accountancy is separately accredited by AACSB, the premier business accreditation body.  As such, we are one of only two academic institutions in the greater Tampa Bay area to be AACSB accredited in both business and accounting, and one of only nine such AACSB accredited institutions throughout Florida.

We are very excited to have a petitioning chapter of Beta Alpha Psi on our campus during the 2007-8 academic year.  This international accounting honor society recognizes excellence and complements members’ formal education by providing interaction and networking among students, faculty and professionals, while fostering lifelong growth, service and ethical conduct.

With our recent growth, we have an increased need for support of our POA activities.  Donations will be used for student scholarships, as well as faculty and academic support.  Please give me a call to discuss your questions or interest in supporting the POA, and see the USFSP Development Office website for additional information. 

We hope you will take full advantage of the many resources we offer as you pursue your goals. I look forward to meeting you and welcome your input and suggestions for improving our POA, course offerings or this web site.
