Beta Gamma Sigma is a business honor society that recognizes the most academically outstanding business students from institutions accredited by AACSB International. It was founded in 1913 and the membership roster now includes business personnel, executives, directors, CEO's, CFO's and presidents from some of the world's largest companies.
USF St. Petersburg has been a chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma since 2006. Students who are invited to be members have a GPA that meets one of the following catergories:
in the upper 10 percent of their junior class,
in the upper 10 percent of their senior class, or
in the upper 20 percent of their Master's class.
There is no service requirement, and only a one-time fee of $95.00 for a lifetime membership. The annual induction ceremony is held the Friday before Spring Commencement for those accepting membership during that academic year.
Including membership to Beta Gamma Sigma on a resume lets future employers know the level of a student's academic achievement. Other benefits include an online community that allows members access to a variety of services, an alumni network, the annual student leadership forum, and the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship Program.
