Professional Organizations - Accounting
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is the national professional organization for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the United States. The AICPA has more than 330,000 members, including CPAs in business and industry, public practice, government, and education.
The American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) ASWA was formed in 1938 to increase the opportunities for women in all fields of accounting and finance. Members include partners in national, regional and local CPA firms, financial officers, controllers, academicians, financial analysts and data processing consultants, recent college graduates and women returning to the work force. The majority of our members have attained professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA, and CFP.
The ACFE is the world's premier provider of anti-fraud training and education. Together with nearly 40,000 members, the ACFE is reducing business fraud world-wide and inspiring public confidence in the integrity and objectivity within the profession.

Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) ISACA is a leading information technology organization representing more than 65,000 individual members in more than 140 countries. Membership is comprised of all levels of IT professionals--executives, management and practitioners--all of whom are dedicated to the promotion of advanced IT governance, control and assurance practices. Uniquely positioned and equipped to be the single provider of leading edge products and services, ISACA has assumed a role as the harmonizing source for IT control practices and standards the world over.
National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Since 1969, the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. has been the leader in expanding the influence of minority professionals in the fields of accounting and finance. Today, through the efforts of NABA and other interested groups, there are now over 200,000 African-Americans participating in the field of accounting, of which over 5,000 are CPAs.
National Society of Accountants (NSA) NSA and its affiliates represent more than 30,000 independent practitioners who provide accounting, tax, auditing, financial and estate planning, and management services to 19 million individuals and businesses. Most members are sole practitioners or partners in small- to medium-size accounting firms. NSA protects its members' right to practice and protects the public by requiring its members to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics.
