About the Program
The Teacher for All Children (TAC) cohort will focus on inclusive practices and a cross-discipline pedagogy. The program will allow first semester Juniors to complete eight consecutive semesters of enrollment and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in elementary education with ESOL Certification and a Master’s of Arts in Exceptional Student Education. USFSP College of Education is interested in students who are dedicated to the promotion of excellence in the field of teaching, TAC students will be expected to extend time and efforts beyond the regular course requirements. Students who embark on this unique course of study will be prepared to excel as teaching professionals as well as to inspire change as a leader in the classroom of tomorrow.
- Unique Components of the Teacher for All Children Program (TAC)
The uniqueness of the TAC program is the “marriage” of the NCATE approved bachelors degree program for elementary education with the NCATE approved master’s degree program in Exceptional Student Education.
- Mentor Teachers
The TAC students will also work with teachers within the school district to provide mentoring to the TAC students. The purpose of the mentor teacher program is for the student to develop a unique relationship with an experienced teacher in several different settings. This relationship will foster a sense of trust, a feeling of self-confidence and allow the student to take risks in a non-threatening environment.
- Intern Fellowship
The TAC cohort will allow students to apply for an Intern Fellowship during their last semester as part of a paid internship component.
- TAC Advisement for Scholarship Opportunities
Advisement from the Financial Aid office of scholarship opportunities and other available funding specific to the TAC cohort.
- Priority Hiring
The graduates of the TAC cohort will have the opportunity for priority hiring in selected areas of education.
- Efficient completion of undergraduate and graduate degree
Allows students to start as juniors and complete a master’s degree in two years. Results in a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with ESOL certification and a master’s degree in varying exceptionalities with ESOL certification.
