Classroom Technology Overview

The Classroom Technology Resources (CTR) division of Campus Computing promotes and supports the educational technology needs of USF St. Petersburg faculty and students in a classroom setting. Campus Computing provides the resources necessary for instructors to enhance the learning experience of all USF St. Pete students. Each campus classroom is equipped with adjustable lighting, DVD players, large-screen presentation projectors, and Internet-ready PCs loaded with popular software titles. Popular software titles include:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system
  • Office 2003 (includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access)
  • Internet Explorer Web browser
  • Mozilla Firefox Web browser
  • SPSS statistical software
  • Windows Media Player, with additional audio and video codecs
  • QuickTime Player
  • RealPlayer
  • SecureShell SSH client
  • Adobe Reader for PDF files
  • Adobe Flash, Shockwave Player

Faculty members are required to attend a short orientation before using the classroom technology equipment. This orientation should be scheduled with the Campus Computing staff at least 48 hours before using the equipment. A Bayboro computer access account will also be required to login to the classroom computers, and will be covered during the orientation session if needed. To schedule an appointment, please submit a service call through our online ticket system or call the Help Desk at (727) 873-HELP(4357).


Classroom Equipment Instructions


Portable PC Carts

For teaching areas without classroom technology, or in case of equipment failure, Portable PC carts are available for check-out by faculty in Bayboro Hall 226. A valid USF ID card is required and faculty members are responsible for the pick-up and return of the PC carts.
