FAQs

Submitting Test Scores
How do I submit my scores? What is the institution code for USF?

  • All test scores must be received directly from the testing service that issued them.
  • The ETS institution code for USF is 5828.  GMAT scores should be submitted by Pearson.  The Pearson code for USF is VP9-M4-25.
  • If you receive your test score from ETS before you are admitted, please mail your score to us.  Your score will be treated as unofficial, but there is a chance that we will be able to accelerate your admission, and provisionally admit you, beased on an unofficial score.
  • All documents submitted become the property of USF and cannot be returned or forwarded.

Receiving Financial Assistance
Is aid available? Where do I apply for aid? etc.

  • Unfortunately, applicants who are not US citizens, permanent residents, or asylees are not eligible for US government financial aid.
  • Applicants should apply for scholarships, assistantships or fellowships through the appropriate sponsoring body.
  • Links to several financial aid sources are available

Florida Residency Classification for International Students

Which international applicants may be eligible to pay in-state tuition fees?

See also Residence Classification for International Students

  • Some non-immigrant visa types are eligible to apply for Florida residency classification for tuition paying purposes (go to link provided above).
  • Tuition fees must be paid after you have registered for courses: you may not pre-pay tuition before arriving at USF.

Pending Permanent Aliens
I am a pending permanent resident.  Do I still apply as an international applicant? Do I need an F-1 visa? What do I include with my application?

  • If you have received your green card (I-551 Alien Registration Card), or other proof of your permanent resident status (e.g. an ADIT stamp) you should not apply as an international student. Please go to USF St. Petersburg admissions for more information on where to send your application.
  • If you have filed an I-485 form with USCIS, but have not yet received your I-551, you must apply as an international student.  In such cases, please include a copy of your I-485 receipt notice.
  • If you have been issued a work permit by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), formerly the INS, please submit a copy of your work permit with your application.
  • If you are married to a Florida Resident or have become a Florida resident yourself, please submit a completed Florida Residency Classification Form
  • As a pending permanent resident alien, you will not need to apply for an F-1 visa.
