I Am USF St. Petersburg
Joyce Morin Admissions/Registration
“ I think there’s no place like USF St. Petersburg!” says Joyce Morin , who first came to USF St. Petersburg in 1991 after working 12 years as the Administrative Assistant in the Law Library at Duquesne University in Pittsburg, PA. Joyce is Senior Admission Registrar Officer for USFSP campus. Students see her smiling face to welcome them when they register.
The primary goal for the office and her staff is to provide quality service to students by helping them register for courses. Registration can become frustrating at times. However, Joyce and her staff have a banner attitude, “there’s nothing that can’t be fixed!” Her staff works to solve all kinds of unusual situations that are brought to their registration windows, from directing students to appropriate advisors, to students who, at the end of the semester become excited when they learn their name didn’t appear on a class role.
Joyce is actively engaged in the duties of the office, attending to registration details such as taking time to work individually with each student registering for courses, solving each registration situation, handling 3 rd party billing registration, and traveling to Pasco Hernando Community College to register USF St. Petersburg students. She indicates she will go anywhere there are students to be registered.
Joyce makes a wonderful professional contribution by enhancing USF St. Petersburg visibility. She is actively involved in the Florida Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admission Officers (FACRAO) and the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admission officers (SACRAO). As local arrangement chair of FACRAO’s 2005 Annual State convention, she has arranged to host the meeting at the USF St. Petersburg campus.
Just as she takes great pride in her work, by reflecting a patient, calm, kind, and wise image, she is also very proud of her family. She is the mother of two children and grandmother of five grandchildren. Her son is a police officer with the St. Petersburg Police department and her son-in-law is an officer with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s department.
Joyce Morin IS USF ST. PETERS-BURG!
