NOTICE:

This is sent on behalf of Suzanne Roberts, Purchasing & Financial Services.  Please contact Suzanne at 4-6050 if you have any questions.

Purchasing & Financial Services received the following notification from the Office of the Chancellor, Division of Colleges & Universities, Florida Department of Education in the courier mail this morning.

"URGENT:  PONY EXPRESS COURIER SERVICE TO BE DISCONTINUED

Because of the recent reorganization in the Division of Colleges and Universities and Department of Education, it has been decided that the use of the everyday Pony Express Courier Service is no longer economically reasonable and will be discontinued after Wednesday, October 15, 2003.  Please notify all appropriate staff at your university that Wednesday will be the last date for the mail bags from DCU to be delivered to your campus.  Please keep in mind, therefore, that we will no longer be able to accept your packages in our courier office for distribution to other SUS campuses."

Effective immediately, USF will only forward mail addressed to Tallahassee (including FAMU and FSU) through the Pony Express Courier Service each day.  Mail addressed to other State universities cannot be included in these shipments.  Departments should send items to other State universities through regular deliveries.

USF will monitor the usage to determine if it is cost effective to continue this service under these new limits.

Please contact Suzanne Roberts at 4-6050 with any questions.
