Search committee for the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs will be held on Thursday February 26th at 1:00 pm in Davis 100. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Search committee for the USFSP Director of Public Safety position will meet to adopt a search plan on Wednesday, February 25 at 9 a.m. in BAY 205.

Cholesterol tests - Wellness Fair, March 30th, contact Sandy Blood by Thursday, February 26th. Total Cholesterol, LDL, HDL, Ratio, Triglyceride and Blood Sugar levels will be tested. A minimum of 20 participants is required for BayCare to hold an on site screening. The cost is $25.00 and must be paid in advance.

Calling all Wharf Rats!
The 21st Annual Faculty/Staff Picnic and Co-Ed Softball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 27 at USF Tampa. Each year USF St. Petersburg enters a team or two dubbed “Wharf Rats.” It is a fun day—great for the family, too!

Business Dean Weighs In At Roundtable

Ron P. Hill, PhDRon P. Hill, PhD, dean of the college of business, joined business leaders and U.S. Rep. Jim Davis Tuesday to discuss the nation's blooming deficit. The one-hour roundtable was convened by Davis, a supporter of a coalition to reduce the deficit.

Members of the business community were invited to discuss the current state of the federal budget and some of the budget issues being debated in Congress. The group discussed Tampa Bay employment opportunities, how a variation in interest rates might impact the local business economy and how typical families measure fiscal soundness.

On-Line Pay Stubs: A New Way of Doing Business

Just a generic paystub Beginning March 5, 2004, pay stubs will no longer be printed and distributed by Human Resources. Employees are now able to access the information from their computers via GEMS Self Service.

Many in the USF Community have already experienced the convenience of the paperless GEMS Self Service functionality. Those individuals who may not have regular access to a computer at their worksite, are located off-campus, or are on a leave of absence should contact their departmental payroll representative for details on accessing pay information.

For additional information or assistance with GEMS Self Service, please contact Human Resources at 4-2970. If you would like to set up a GEMS Self Service demonstration in your area, please contact Michele Phlipot at 4-5489.

Dr. Partan specializes in animal behavior and communication, focusing on how animals use and interpret different communication signals.

This event is open to all USF students, alumni, faculty, and staff and is a professional forum for job searching, netowrking, and graduate school information. A variety of employers will be attending looking for all types of majors and jobs. There will also be certain graduate programs and test prep organizations represented. A list of participating employers will be available beginning February 18, 2004 on the Counseling & Career Center website or in BAY 119.

Career Expo 2004 - Your Time to Soar!

Soon it will be spring--with the land awash in GREEN!

Celebrate springtime—and Irish culture and spirit with the USF St. Pete Singers! Rehearsals for the annual grand St. Paddy's spring show are held weekly in February at the USF SP Williams House on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Performances of “The Late Late Leprechaun Show with Brendan Blarney” are scheduled for March 7, 13, 14 and 17 at various senior centers and nursing homes around the area.

Talent is useful, but a big heart is required. Singers, dancers, jugglers, speakers, costume-designers, and other warm bodies are welcome. Bring a friend.

The USF SP Singers is an eclectic collection of students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, and friends who perform throughout the year. The primary mission of the USF St. Pete Singers is social service. The Singers began is 1974 and recently presented their 30th annual Yuletide shows. The group also received recognition as the “2003 Volunteer of the Year” in the Arts and Recreation category from the United Way of Tampa Bay, Volunteer Center, and 2-1-1 Tampa Bay .
