Dean Weighs In At Roundtable
Ron
P. Hill, PhD, dean of the college of business, joined business leaders
and U.S. Rep. Jim Davis Tuesday to discuss the nation's blooming deficit.
The one-hour roundtable was convened by Davis, a supporter of a coalition
to reduce the deficit.
Members of the business community were invited to discuss
the current state of the federal budget and some of the budget
issues being debated in Congress. The group discussed Tampa
Bay employment opportunities, how a variation in interest
rates might impact the local business economy and how typical
families measure fiscal soundness.

On-Line Pay Stubs: A New Way of Doing
Business
Beginning
March 5, 2004, pay stubs will no longer be printed
and distributed by Human Resources. Employees are now able
to access the information from their computers via GEMS Self
Service.
Many in the USF Community have already experienced the convenience
of the paperless GEMS Self Service functionality. Those individuals
who may not have regular access to a computer at their worksite,
are located off-campus, or are on a leave of absence should
contact their departmental payroll representative for details
on accessing pay information.
For additional information or assistance with GEMS Self
Service, please contact Human Resources at 4-2970. If you
would like to set up a GEMS Self Service demonstration in
your area, please contact Michele Phlipot at 4-5489.
