Lightfine
Comes to Campus
Students
and staff joined seasoned veteran of the Nobel Prize-winning
organization Doctors Without Borders, Mary Lightfine, when
she spoke Wednesday, March 3 in
the Campus Activities Center.
After working as a registered nurse in emergency rooms throughout
the United States, Lightfine, a self-professed adrenaline
junkie, decided to join the international humanitarian movement
by affiliating with Doctors Without Borders and International
Medical Corps. Since then
she has worked in more than a dozen countries, some of the
most hellish spots on earth. In 1999 she was among distinguished
members of Doctors Without Borders to be honored with the
Nobel Peace Prize.

Student Input to Shape Upcoming Construction
A student survey went live Tuesday to garner input about student
housing and amenities for USF St. Petersburg's multipurpose student center.
The survey reviews potential services from eateries to study space for the
multipurpose student center.
Director of Student Services Cedric Howard urged faculty to mention the
survey and prizes to students to keep participation high. “This facility will
be their on-campus haven. We want students to understand not only what their
choices are, but how their choices impact the cost.”
Survey questions are specific and aim to nail down amenities as well as how
often students expect to use the offerings.
