University faculty and staff are invited to attend a question and answer session with Dennis Gayle, PhD., a finalist for the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, from 10 to 11 am Wednesday, April 7, 2004 in DAV 130. Gayle is currently the Senior Advisor to the Vice Chancellor at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad; and the Principal and Pro Vice Chancellor at the St. Augustine Campus, University of the West Indies.

Program for Ethics in Education and Community lecture series continues Wednesday, April 7 with 'Cooking for the Health of It,' a brown bag Discussion featuring Susan Huff, founder of Headfirst Farms and owner of Integrity Organic Restaurant in St. Petersburg. The event, which will be from noon to 1:30 pm in Davis Hall 130, is free to the public. For more information call 727-553-4857.

Pep Rally at BayWalk Wednesday

USF Cheerleader

Join alumni, faculty, staff and students Wednesday, April 7 for USF St. Petersburg's first pep rally at BayWalk. Football Coach Jim Leavitt, the Herd of Thunder Marching Band and cheerleaders will be on hand to fire up fans for the Spring Game at Raymond James Stadium that weekend. The pep rally starts at 12:30 pm at BayWalk. 

This event is sponsored by USF Athletics, USF St. Petersburg, The Sembler Corporation and The St. Petersburg Times.

Survivors Speak From The Heart

Artists speak from the heart National Sexual Assult Awareness Month opened April 2 at the Nelson Poyner Library with the art exhibit "Survivors Speak: From The Heart". The art, featuring works from victims of sexual violence will be on exhibit in the library lobby until April 30. Each piece in the display is in the form of a heart created by someone who chose to share the pain of their experience through art.

This is the third annual exhibition of artwork by victims of sexual violence and is sponsored by Family Service Centers, Inc., Florida Craftsman, Inc., Florida Council Against Sexual Violence, Target and the Nelson Poynter Library, USF St. Petersburg.

Linda GreenYou would never know Linda Green is the mother of two grown children, Linear and Samara, of whom she is most proud. Some of you might have worked with Linear in the computer lab. He has been the night lab assistant since he was in 10th grade. Now he is finishing his sophomore year at community college, hoping to transfer to USF St. Petersburg in the near future.

Join Regional Chancellor Karen White and Peter Betzer, dean of Marine Sciences for a night at the Florida Orchestra April 17.

Tickets include a pre-performance reception at the Williams House with Conductor Susan Haig.

Haig will be at the reception to share a preview of the evening’s program that includes the Herbert Cello Concerto and the New World Symphony of Anton Dvorak.

Did you know that by donating blood, you will benefit from fresher, younger blood cells too? The April Blood Drive is Tuesday, April 6. USFSP USPS Vacancy - Office Manager in the College of Arts and Sciences; Minimum requirements are high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of office experience. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Computer experience. Prefer: Experience in a college/university setting. Experience in purchasing, travel, leave, faculty activity reporting and space data reporting. Familiarity with USF processes to include FAST (initiating and receiving), FAIR, OASIS and some BANNER. Experience supervising office staff and students.
