USF St. Petersburg Professor Awarded Fulbright-Hays Fellowship

Lisa Ann Culp, PhDLisa Anne Culp, assistant professor of English, is one of 16 educators selected to participate in the 2004 Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad in China this summer. She will travel to China in June for the month-long History and Culture in China: Social Trends/Popular Culture Focus.

Survivors
Speak From The Heart

Artists speak from the heart National Sexual Assult Awareness Month opened April 2 at the Nelson Poyner Library with the art exhibit "Survivors Speak: From The Heart". The art, featuring works from victims of sexual violence will be on exhibit in the library lobby until April 30. Each piece in the display is in the form of a heart created by someone who chose to share the pain of their experience through art.

This is the third annual exhibition of artwork by victims of sexual violence and is sponsored by Family Service Centers, Inc., Florida Craftsman, Inc., Florida Council Against Sexual Violence, Target and the Nelson Poynter Library, USF St. Petersburg.

An Evening at the Florida Orchestra April 17

Join Regional Chancellor Karen White and Peter Betzer, dean of Marine Sciences for a night at the Florida Orchestra April 17.

Tickets include a pre-performance reception at the Williams House with Conductor Susan Haig.

Haig will be at the reception to share a preview of the evening’s program that includes the Herbert Cello Concerto and the New World Symphony of Anton Dvorak.

French Film Festival

The French Program will screen four French films "8 Women" and "Safe Conduct" this Friday April 9 and "Inch'Allah Dimanche" and "Chaos" next Friday April 16. These movies are in French with English subtitles. They are free, open to the community, and will be shown in Davis Hall 103.

Marie and Leslie E. Cole Chair in Ethics Finalist Presentations

The three finalists for the Marie and Leslie E. Cole Chair in Ethics at USFSP will be on campus over the next two weeks. Each candidate will make two public presentations. In the first, the candidate will discuss his current research in ethics. In the second, he will share his vision for what the Cole Chair can contribute to our campus and to our community.

USFSP USPS Vacancy - Office Manager in the College of Arts and Sciences; Minimum requirements are high school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of office experience. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Computer experience. Prefer: Experience in a college/university setting. Experience in purchasing, travel, leave, faculty activity reporting and space data reporting. Familiarity with USF processes to include FAST (initiating and receiving), FAIR, OASIS and some BANNER. Experience supervising office staff and students.
