Governor Leads Town Hall on Campus

Governor Jeb BushOn Monday, June 14, Florida Governor Jeb Bush will host a town-hall meeting on campus to discuss innovative and new affordable health care options now available to Florida employers and consumers. The event is from 9 -10 am in the Campus Activities Center. The town-hall meeting is free and open to the public. 

The June 14 event is the first in a series of town-hall meetings across the state this summer intended to better educate Floridians on the benefits of Health Savings Accounts and Health Reimbursement Arrangements - innovative new health care products designed improve access to affordable health care while empowering consumers to invest in health care savings.

Retirement/Investment Workshops Coming Your Way

Workshops on retirement, estate and investment planning, presented by Ernst and Young, Financial Planners for state of Florida employees, have been scheduled at the FMRI, KAS Auditorium, July 13 and 14.

There will be three workshops. Each workshop will be presented twice--once on each of the two days. Note that the timing of each workshop is different on each of the two days. You may attend any number of workshops
(1-3).

There is no charge to attend. However, a minimum of 20 participants must register to offer the series.

To attend you must register by calling 1-866-446-9377.

Although OPS employees are not eligible for retirement benefits, they
may want to attend to learn more about general investment, retirement and estate planning.

The workshops are:

Tuesday, July 13
Retirement Planning for All Ages, 8:30AM-10AM
Estate Planning, 10:30 AM-Noon
Investment Planning, 2PM-3:30PM

Wednesday, July 14th
Investment Planning: The Basics, 8:30AM-10AM
Retirement Planning for All Ages, 10:30AM-Noon
Estate Planning, 2PM-3:30PM

Non-Resident Aliens at USF

There will be a general information session on Thursday, June 24, in DAV 130 from 1:30 until 3 regarding employment of Non-Resident Aliens at USF. David Austell, PhD, Director, International Student and Scholar Services, Tampa, and Mark Gaulter, PhD, Director, International Affairs, St Petersburg will provide information about proper documentation, processes and updates to the laws since September 11. Please call Human Resources if you plan on attending, 3-4115.
