Project ESCALERA is pleased to offer a special seminar for USF St. Petersburg faculty presented by Elana Spector-Cohen of Tel Aviv University

Seminar topics include:
· The context of Tel Aviv University’s English for Academic Purposes
Program
· Theoretical assumptions of the reading process, proficient versus
non-proficient readers, and type A versus type B syllabi
· Four-pronged approach to syllabus design
· Complementary pyramid syllabus design
· Writing issues
· Test item formulation and alternative assessment
· Hands-on text analysis activities

This seminar is especially appropriate for faculty teaching courses that focus on academic reading and writing or anyone who is interested in the university system of Israel.
