the annual Faculty and Staff Awards
Luncheon this Thursday, March 9 from Noon - 1
p.m. in the Campus Activities Center.
Regional Chancellor Karen A. White will recognize
staff and faculty members for their length of
service to the university and announce the winners
of the A&P Excellence in Service Awards
and the USPS Outstanding Service Awards.
There will also be a wall signing at
Residence Hall One to commemorate the event.
Everyone planning to attend MUST call
the R.S.V.P. line at 3-4490 to have a
seat.

USF is Named in Top 95
Research Universities
The Carnegie
Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching
released this week an extensive revision to how it
classifies U.S. colleges and universities. The
University of South Florida is now listed as a
Research University (Very High Research Activity),
which is the highest level of classification in
the new system.

Airport Expansion Prompting
Changes
The Honda
Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and a major
expansion at Albert Whitted Airport are forcing
parking changes at USF St. Petersburg.

Undergraduates Present with
Scholars Undergraduates will represent
USF St. Petersburg at the March 17 Southeastern
Psychological Association Conference, SEPA, in
Atlanta. The students submitted their work
alongside some of the country’s top scholars, and
were invited to participate in the conference.

environmental science student with S.E.A.S.,
Students Environmental Awareness Society. She was

City Streets Becoming
Two-Way
The city of St. Petersburg approved
the conversion of First and Second streets
South into two-way streets. The transformation is
designed to enhance traffic flow through downtown.

Bands Battled it Out at
Bullstock ‘06
Eight local Tampa Bay area high
school and college bands showcased their skills
for cash prizes at the first Battle of the Bands:
Bullstock ’06 on the USF St. Petersburg Harborside
Lawn Saturday, March 4. Approximately 200 Bay area
students came out to enjoy the waterfront concert.

control of the victim by instilling fear and

Calling All
Golfers!
USF is having a
faculty/staff golf scramble to benefit USF
Scholarships. The event is a four player scramble
with shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. April 1. The fee
to participate is $55 including green fees, cart,
dinner, small bucket of balls at driving range
prior to start and sales tax. Deadline to register
is March 24, entries are limited to 120. For more
information call Chris at 974-7944 in the Campus
Recreation Office at USF
Tampa.
