Honors Week begins Monday, April 17, and is a time to recognize students achieving academic excellence at USF St. Petersburg. The annual week of events showcases and publicly recognizes the achievements of students.

As the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus expands, faculty and staff have also had an expansion in the number of babies born - nearly two dozen in the past two years. USFSP recorded this milestone in our campus family with a group photograph of the babies with their faculty or staff mom or dad on Bayboro Harbor.

The Crow’s Nest Reinstates Advisory Board
A Student Publications Board made up of faculty, staff and students at USF St. Petersburg is now active with the student news publication, The Crow’s Nest.

If you were on campus Tuesday, you may have noticed a film crew capturing students and faculty at various campus locations. University Relations is working with CMR Studios on the production of a commercial highlighting USF St. Petersburg.

The monitors hanging in Bayboro Lobby, Davis Lobby, the Café, and the Campus Activities Center are a part of the new information network Student Life is using to increase awareness of events and important news on campus.

Students Take Initiative to Teach
Harborside Lawn was full of booths, environmental awareness brochures and eager bodies ready to celebrate the Inaugural Harbor Day Initiative Wednesday, April 12. The Students Environmental Awareness Society, S.E.A.S., is  conveying the message that the harbor is in danger if people do not take initiative now.

Tomorrow’s Leaders Preparing for Symposium
The Third Annual Tomorrow's Leaders Symposium is a showcase of innovative research and creative works produced by USF St. Petersburg undergraduate students, in collaboration with faculty, during the past year.  Student participants will display research, exhibit artwork and graphic design or perform original musical compilations.

Psychologists Awarded Outstanding Professional Paper
Donna Elliston, Ph.D., psychology research associate and James McHale, Ph.D., psychology associate professor, received the "Outstanding Professional Paper" award from the Southeastern Psychological Association's (SEPA) annual convention in Atlanta last month.

Tunisia Hosts Cultural Dialogue
Ray Arsenault, Ph.D., John Hope Franklin Professor of Southern History and co-founder of the Florida Studies Program, visited Tunisia this semester to speak at a conference that strives to create a dialogue among all countries.

Send Your Students to the Polls!

Encourage students to head to the polls and vote for student government. Polls are open Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and from 6 - 7 p.m. in Davis Lobby. Remind students to bring student identification.

Remind students they can register for summer classes starting Monday, April 17!
