USF Outstanding Staff Awards 

 

Two members of the USF St. Petersburg family were awarded the 2007 Outstanding Staff Award. John Husfield, webmaster, and Teresa Przectoki, aquatic programs coordinator, were recognized for their outstanding job performance and honored at the Outstanding Staff Awards ceremony Wednesday, May 23 at the USF Theatre.

Fundraising Fun at Casino Night


The Alumni Association Pinellas County Chapter hosted a successful Casino Night on Saturday, May 19. Distinguished Alumni Award winners, alumni and their family gathered at the Campus Activities Center for a night of fun including: craps, roulette, Texas hold-em poker and black jack.

More than 100 teachers and administrators registered for the 2nd annual Teacher Leadership Institute: Teacher Leadership in Action hosted by the College of Education Wednesday, May 30 and Thursday May 31.

New Partnership Brings More Internships


Psychology student Katrina Jenkins landed a coveted internship in Washington D.C. this summer and she plans to turn her experience into a learning opportunity for her fellow students. Jenkins will keep a detailed blog on her life as an intern at Offender Aid and Restoration of Arlington, Inc. where she will teach inmates at the Arlington Detention Center. Her internship was obtained through a newly formed partnership between USF St. Petersburg and the Washington Center

The partnership was forged through the university's new Center for Civic Engagement, which is charged with expanding the university's Citizen Scholar Program and providing students new opportunities to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it in the community.

Prospective USF St. Petersburg students now have another way to find the campus when they visit. USFSP now offers directions to campus by land, air and sea!

Easy Way to Renew Parking Permints

The new academic year is on the horizon and with it comes time to purchase new parking decals. Last year, parking services introduced a mail-in option for permit purchases and its success has warranted a repeat performance.
