RHO Suite Transformation 

Two years before it's even set to open in Ybor City, IKEA designers were on campus at Residence Hall One to transform its Tour Suite. Mega-store Walmart also joined in on the action. The two retailers outfitted the model suite in colorful, fun, versatile and, most importantly, affordable décor.
 
 
Army ROTC Now at USFSP
 
Pinellas County college students interested in joining Army ROTC can kiss the commute to Tampa goodbye. Starting fall 2007, USF St. Petersburg will house the first extension of the Army ROTC program at USF. It will serve students at USF St. Petersburg, Clearwater Christian College, Eckerd College, and St. Petersburg College.
 
MBA Program Sees Enrollment Jump
 
Pinellas County businesses continue to recognize the importance of developing the skills of their employees; a decision not lost on the MBA Program at USF St. Petersburg.Currently, the College of Business is experiencing a record 65 percent increase in enrollment for fall 2007.
 
 
Visiting Washington to Benefit Teaching
 
Vivian Fueyo, Ph.D., dean of the College of Education, and Malcolm Butler, Ph.D., assistant professor of science education, joined other members of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education in Washington, D.C. June 20-21 to meet with federal legislators to discuss pending legislation affecting institutions of higher learning.

Cuban Sandwiches and More Delights

Graduate students interested in learning about the history of Florida cuisine should enjoy a seminar taught by Andy Huse, assistant librarian in the USF Tampa Special Collections Department. The Florida Foodways seminar is offered this fall in the Florida Studies Program. 
 
Library Back to Fall Schedule

 
Now that fall is approaching the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library will soon return to its fall hours of operation. This change will take effect starting Monday, Aug. 27.
 
School Supply Drive

USF St. Petersburg and the Junior League of St. Petersburg  joined forces to collect and provide school supplies for students in elementary and middle school in the Midtown and Child Park areas.
 
USFSP faculty, staff and students donated backpacks and supplies that will benefit more than 40 students. Barbara Fleischer, Joneen Maczis, Cam Ngo, Nalini Soni, Desire Woroner and Barry McDowell volunteered to collect supplies and stuff backpacks Friday, Aug. 3. 

Marine Science Welcomes Piazze

We would like to extend our congratulations to Tom Piazze who has recently accepted a new position as the Unit Development Officer for the College of Marine Science effective Friday, July 27.
As the first full-time developement officer at the College of Marine Science, Piazze will be responsible for assisting in the College's upcoming Capital Campaign and help drive the College to the next level of academic excellence. For the time being, his office and contact information will remain the same until new office space is assigned at the College of Marine Science.

"Thanks to [everyone] for [their] personal friendship and professional support of my efforts over the last two years. I wish each of you good luck in your individual and collective efforts and will look forward to seeing you on campus from time to time," Piazze said.
