CRIME ALERT! USF POLICE CRIME ALERT BULLETIN The purpose of crime alert bulletins is to inform campus citizens of incidents or activities occurring in the community that may pose a threat to their safety and security. ATTENTION: AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ BATTERY OCCURRED: 1300 4th St. South (off campus, adjacent to college of business)
The St. Petersburg Police Department has reported that at approximately 12:00 a.m. on 07/26/05, a white male in a vehicle occupied by three (3) other white males and a white female assaulted a white male pedestrian with a firearm. The vehicle was a white Cadillac two-door, unknown year or registration. The victim was reportedly walking northbound on Third Street south, when one of the white males exited the vehicle and beat him about the head with a pistol. As the victim fled, the suspect reportedly fired the pistol, and fired again from the Cadillac while fleeing the area past the Dali museum. The victim was reported to possibly be a transient, and not affiliated with USF. The St. Petersburg Police Department is continuing the investigation.
