The purpose of crime alert bulletins is to inform campus citizens of incidents or activities occurring in the community that may pose a threat to their safety and security.

ATTENTION:

 

STRONG ARM ROBBERY/ CAMPUS FRINGE AREA

OCCURRED: 700 4TH STREET SOUTH

 

On 01/11/07 at approximately 7:35PM, a USF student was attempting to enter her vehicle, which was parked in the city of St. Petersburg near campus at approximately 7th Avenue and 4th Street South. Two African American males wearing dark clothing approached her from behind, hit her in the back of the head, grabbed her purse, and ran south west towards the All Children's Hospital. The subjects were reported to be approximately 14 to 17 years of age, about 5' 6" to 5' 9" in height, and wearing dark hooded shirts with basketball shorts. There is no further information regarding the subjects. The incident was handled by the St. Petersburg Police Department, report #2007-2458.
