Q. Is there a short course on how to write a proposal?
A. Yes, a short course is offered by the Foundation Center via the internet (5 minute overview).
Q. Is there a tutorial available on how to prepare a budget?
A. Yes, the Foundation Center has prepared an excellent tutorial on Proposal Budget Basics (5 minute tutorial).
Q. Who can help me in developing my proposal budget here at USF?

Q. Who do I contact to find out if I have met all the compliance and assurance requirements established by the University?

Q. The agency guidelines say they have forms on-line, but I can't find them! Or, the guidelines say "contact your Sponsored Research Office for the necessary forms." Or, the submission is entirely electronic and submitted through the Internet. Who can help me?

Q. What forms are required by the University in order to submit my proposal for external funding?
A. You must submit an Internal Form that has been signed by you, your Co-Principal Investigator, your Chairperson, and your Dean/Director/Vice President. Once complete, it is turned in at the time of your proposal submission to the Division of Sponsored Research.
Q. Who will review and sign the final proposal?
A. Your Senior Grant Specialist will review your final proposal submission for accuracy and will obtain the signature of the Director of Sponsored Research on your behalf.
Q. My department is small, we don't have a reliable copier and no one knows how to send an overnight letter! Who can help me send my proposal out?
A. Assisting you in copying and sending your proposal out is just one of the many services that the Division of Sponsored Research provides. Please contact your Senior Grant Specialist for details.

Q. Where can I find the Proposal Review and Certification Form (a.k.a. Internal Form)?
A. The Internal Form is available on the Division of Sponsored Research's website in Excel format.
Q. Where can I find IRB forms?
A. IRB forms are available on-line and are organized by 01 Medical and 02 Social and Behavioral.
Q. Where can I find agency forms (federal/state/local/private) that I can use Word or WordPerfect to complete?

Q. I am working on an agency form and it asks for information on USF's Congressional District Number, Institutional Code, Dunn and Bradstreet Number,etc. How do I find this information?
