USF St. Petersburg Now A Member of CUR
USF St. Petersburg is now a member of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Membership has its advantage and provides many new services. Some of the new services that are beneficial to USFSP faculty include:
- Subscription to Newswise that allows us to submit press releases about undergraduate research and make it available to 4000 journalists across the country.
- CUR Mentoring Service that matches a new faculty member with an experienced faculty member from another institution. New professor have found this to be an invaluable service. If interested in the mentoring service, send a request directly to the National Office, cur@cur.org with "Mentor Request" in the subject line. There is no charge for this service for CUR Members.
- Volunteers available to review proposals, should faculty have a proposal that could benefit from an outside review prior to submission.
- Registry of Undergraduate Researchers lists undergraduate students who have had research experience and wish to continue their education toward a doctorate. The Registry is available for purchase at a reduced price of $1200 for the full registry, to doctoral granting institutional members of CUR.

- Institute for Undergraduate Program Directors - February 15-17, 2008 at the University of Arizona.
- Institute for New Faculty in the Natural Sciences - June 6-8, 2008 at Davidson College. This institute is designed to assist new faculty start a successful research program with undergraduate students and to learn from experienced faculty.
- Institute on Mentorship, Collaboration and Undergraduate Research in the Social Sciences and Humanities, July 18-20, 2008 at Carthage College
- Proposal Writing Workshop - July 20-24 at Baldwin Wallace College
