QEP Idea Proposal Submission Due Date Extended!!!

The QEP Committee met for the first time on Thursday, October 8th and decided to extend the QEP Idea Submission deadline to Monday, October 26, 2009. This extended deadline gives students, faculty, and staff a better opportunity to participate in this important university activity. The QEP Committee which has a standing meeting date of Thursday afternoons -- will begin the first review of QEP Idea Submissions on October 29, 2009.

The QEP Committee is chaired by Jay Sokolovsky and members include: Deanna Bullard, Don McCarty, Ruby Qin, Tina Neville, Sarah Purvis, Rick Smith, Frank Biafora, Kent Kelso, Deni Elliott, Jon Ellington, Malcolm Butler and J.E.Gonzalez.

QEP Committee Sets Standing Meeting Days/Times

Unless noted otherwise, the QEP Committee will meet each Thursday afternoon from 3:30 - 5:00. Meeting location TBA.

One page idea proposals are due to the QEP Committee by October 29, 2009.
Final selection of USFSP’s QEP topic will be completed by December, 2009.
The fully developed QEP proposal must be submitted to SACS by December 1, 2010.

What is a QEP?

SACS Core Requirement 2.12
The institution has developed an acceptable Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that (1) includes a broad-based institutional process identifying key issues emerging from institutional assessment, (2) focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution, (3) demonstrates institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the QEP, (4) includes broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP, and (5) identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievement.

1st QEP Committee meeting, October 8, 2009: Original deadline of September 15th was extended to October 26th. Original topic selection deadline of November 15th was extended to December 2009. The fully developed QEP proposal must be submitted to SACS by December 1, 2010.
