CENTER FOR COUNSELING, HEALTH AND WELLNESS STAFF Susan P. Cochran Phillips, Ph.D., Director. Susan received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina and her B.Sc. in psychology from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at the Counseling Center at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. She is licensed as a psychologist in both Florida and Alabama and has worked in University Counseling Centers, community mental health, hospital consulting, and private practice. Her areas of interest are consultation, training, eating disorders, trauma and recovery, stress management and wellness. Her therapeutic orientation incorporates both psychodynamic and interpersonal theory integrated with cognitive behavioral interventions in a short-term model. Anita Sahgal, Psy.D, Psychologist. Anita completed her graduate training at the Florida Institute of Technology and an internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Butler University and University of Georgia, respectively. Most recently, she worked at Florida International University. Dr Sahgal approaches her clinical work from an integrative and developmental perspective, with an emphasis on interpersonal and multicultural dynamics. Her areas of interest include diversity, gay/lesbian issues, eating/body image issues, group therapy, wellness, and training. Susan M. Toler, Ph.D. Susan completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Illiniois, Champaign-Urbana. She was employed at the Indiana University Student Health Service Psychiatric Division after completing her M.S. in counseling at Indiana University in Bloomington. Dr. Toler completed a two year post-doctoral medical fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She practiced Pediatric Psychology and Forensic Psychology for serveral years and was on the clinical faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Toler's clinical orientation emphasizes a developmental perspective with a focus on cognitive-behavioral, behavioral and interpersonal skills training.
