I love the ASC because it offers an inviting and friendly place to study and work. The staff are some of the most pleasant at USf St. Pete.; they are always willing to help or offer relevant advice. I’m grateful I took the opportunity to visit the Academic Success Center (ASC) this semester. I received help from several tutors and they were all very knowledgeable, helpful and great sources of encouragement. I believe that every student should take advantage of the ASC BECAUSE IT WORKS. I have recommended the ASC to many other students, but I don’t know how many have acted on my recommendation. Students have to put in the effort to grow academically and the ASC is definitely a great place for a student to receive help to grow academically. I did. Also, I have to take the G.R.E., so I’ll continue to utilize the ASC.
My tutor is very affable and does an extraordinary job at simplifying complex concepts. It was like coming to a drive-thru window and ordering a dose of comprehension. She delivers!

My tutor was amazing. I would have never passed this course without her assistance. As it stands right now, I have the ability to get a B with a strong grade on my final.
My tutor has been the best tutor for the past two semesters. I understand the material more as well as re-learning old material that was useful during this term. I was afraid to go to a tutor but I have been eager to attend tutoring sessions because the staff is VERY kind and my tutor doesn’t make me feel intellectually incompetent when I don’t understand simple concepts. And I know I will leave knowing more than when I walked through the doors, every time! As I move to another campus I will set the standards of my next tutor to a high level because of the tutoring I received. Thank you SO MUCH….YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
My tutor was great. She could really explain things to me in better terms. I plan to see her again for more stats II help as well as accounting help in the coming semesters.
I just want to say my tutor was great. She really helped me understand calculus better. She knew how to answer almost every question I ever asked her.

My tutor was the BEST calculus tutor! This is my second semester working with her, and she is wonderful at explaining things. I think she should be teaching the course! Hold on to her, she is an amazing asset to the center!!!
I felt the tutoring helped me a great deal. For students that use the ASC, study and complete assignments, there is no reason they should have a problem passing their courses. My tutors were awesome. Both are very bright and very easy to learn from. The tutors often present the material in ways that are easier to understand. The ASC is a wonderful resource for USF students. Thank you!!!
My tutor was great. She definitely helped me improve my grades in Stats II. We struggled a little bit in the second half as she did not follow the instructors school of thought, as she had a different teacher, which made this part more challenging. Still, she tried to help me. I then tried to use the other tutor, forgive me. I forgot her name. She did help me once, but her availability clashed with mine, so I was unable to use her again. She was helpful, because she had the same professor. She was challenged during some of the explanations as well. She definitely helped me though. I think Stats II is just a tough subject. Thanks for all your help.

My tutor was “GREAT” and he really made me comfortable about asking questions. I am a horrible math student but he showed me some pointers that I had either forgotten or never knew. Please thank him for me.

My tutor helped me out a lot in principals of financial accounting. I would have never gotten a B in that class without his help.
The young woman who helped me was very kind. At one point, we were stumped about the answer to a chemistry question and she took the time to visit my professor to get clarification. She boosted my confidence and I did much better on the test that day than I had on previous tests. I would use the Center again and would recommend it to fellow students. Thank you for providing this service.

My experience with the Academic Success Center was wonderful each and every time. I am certain that Calc I and II would have been far more challenging without your services. I particularly liked how I could call one week or 10 minutes ahead to make an appointment or just stop by and see if a spot opened up. Thank you guys for all your help!!!
I only used the Academic Success Center one time, but I enjoyed the tutor that helped me. I will continue to use the tutors in the fall semester if I have a need. Thank you for this valuable help!

Just knowing that the Academic Success Center was available to me helped improve my grade, insofar as it provided the comfort of relief and lessened my anxiety. Furthermore, the pamphlets located on the wall on the entrance way gave valuable insight on how to organize my time (however corny that sounds). Though my tutor was very knowledgeable, the most vital information I gained from her was inside tips on how to survive the class of my professor –after all, that is the real world. Thank you.
The ASC is what I owe my entire degree too. My tutor has been nothing but supportive in my quest for my degree. I used the ASC virtually every week for one thing or another!
I love the Academic Success Center!!
I am a professional, continuing education student studying to change careers. I only attended three (3) one-on-one workshops at the Academic on three separate days to improve my learning, reading and test-taking skills. All three workshops helped to identify my learning challenges and build upon my professional skills to successfully make the transition from the world of work to the world of study. After my one-on-one sessions (and countless hours of studying), I finally passed a course I repeated in the top percentile of the class!
I was having a hard time passing my teacher certification and professional exam. I have severe test anxiety. Thanks to ASC, the tutor helped me to control my anxiety by coaching me on how to breathe and relax. I owe my success all to her and the staff at ASC. You are the BEST. Keep up the great work!
I used the center for a make-up session for the GKT practice administration, as required for the SUCCEED Grant. I did not use it for study or computer resources. The staff there was very helpful though!
