Freshman Summer Institute (FSI)

Welcome to the University of South Florida St. Petersburg Freshman Summer Institute (FSI). As an FSI member, you can feel assured that your educational, professional, and personal development will be the focus of our efforts.

FSI is an academically intensive six week program that will meet from June 29 to August 7, 2009, Monday through Friday. You are expected to be at school from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during these six weeks.   A mandatory FSI Orientation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2009, and you will receive your class and associated review session schedule that day.

The FSI integrates course instruction with personalized academic support. FSI students will be enrolled for three of four college courses: college algebra/finite math, English composition, college learning strategies, and library research.  Course Leaders work closely with students in all your courses and they maintain a schedule outside of class time for review sessions.
