The Road to the White House - 2004

About the Class:

Sign up for “The Road to the White House” and INTERN for one of the ten Democratic Presidential campaigns or on President Bush's Re-election team in NEW HAMPSHIRE , home of the first-in-the-nation primary. Learn first-hand about presidential campaigns and the presidential nominating process.

Seminars will be led and internships arranged and supervised by Professor Judithanne Scourfield McLauchlan , a former White House staffer and veteran of several presidential campaigns who has extensive political experience in New Hampshire .

In our seminars we will discuss topics such as the presidential nominating process, the national conventions, voter turnout, campaign finance, third party and independent candidates, the electoral college, and the nature of presidential campaigns.

This will be a 9-week course . Seminars will be conducted Monday afternoons from January 5 through March 1 st . (We will meet daily during the 10 days in New Hampshire .) The final exam will be held on March 15 th .

Note that you will miss one week of your other classes while you are in New Hampshire . It is our expectation that you will make up missed work after you return from New Hampshire , especially since this course ends March 1 st and it represents 6 credits of your courseload. The professor will work with you to ensure that your other courses do not suffer due to your participation in this unique seminar.

 ENROLLMENT IS LIMITED and there are COURSE FEES to cover travel and lodging expenses.
